    • Corinne Vilcaz, is professional painting artist in contemporary figuration. She plays with forms and colors (bright red, yellow…) giving to her work, a suggested vision to all kind of various subjects, in which intense colours and strong contrasts, are deeply balanced with vertical lines. One may recognize a ship, a bouquet, or a landscape, in a quite specific style playing between figuration and abstract...

Born in July 1969, Corinne Vilcaz was a regular scholar student of Villeneuve sur lot Beaux Arts School, where she definitely chose oil on canvas and water painting techniques as hers.

While she followed traditional linguistic and international commerce studies at University of Toulouse, she kept on assisting to water painting courses which taught her how to catch light by leaving white colour a great place in her works. There would be settled the basis of her future personal style : leave white colour spread into the canvas and play with contrasts.

Then, she found out revelation about how to express herself freely with a half-figural, half-abstract way, while participating to abstract oil on painting courses at Beaux Arts School of Villeneuve sur lot. Yet, she had found her way…
Thus, despite a pleasant professional activity in import- export, she decided to drop it down, and choose to follow the road of her artistic passion.

Corinne Vilcaz, is now presented in cotation books such as AKOUN, ARPRICE, LA GAZETTE DES ARTS…and in permanent exhibition in galleries in France, Europe, United States and Japan, while yearly participating to the Greatest Parisians Artistic Art shows of Grand Palais, and Carrousel du Louvre.

      Artistic Inspiration:
What is the most important in my work is a lining and squaring colourful shape.

My inspiration may come from any kind of thing…it may be a recent travel that inspired me with beautiful landscapes (still it’s always the colour of the place that first attracts my eye), or a pleasant moment spent with friends drinking some lemonade in a nice water pot…and it may inspire me a nice still life…
Most of time, my eye is attracted by one little thing (for instance the pot of lemonade, or a specific line between a tree and a poppy down its roots…), and I capture this little “detail” in my mind, then I create a complete shape of colour and movement, around it.

Then, when the captured detail in mine, colour naturally emerges throughout of my head: I feel I need to use red colour, or yellow colour…and I create in my mind a colourful settlement of mixed contrasts together with my first chosen colour

I first settle down the shape of my paintings so as to obtain an harmonious movement between lines and squares, together with my former colourful mind creation.

Then, I put this down on a rapid sketch, and let the random of creative happenings lead my painting brush…
