The Vineyard of Buzet

Le Vin de Buzet has been an AOC since 1973, produced in around thirty municipalities around the town of Buzet-sur-Baïse, around the river of the same name. It is thanks to the river bed, that the vines flourish in a soil rich in minerals, made of limestone and clay promoting the good health of the vines with good drainage. It is also the river, which historically has enabled the adjoining municipalities to develop wine-making activity, river navigation allowing wines to make themselves known.

A magnificent wine-growing area

This wine-growing area, which covers 1,800 ha, enjoys a climate where rainfall is less abundant than in the rest of the department. It is the generous sun and dry weather during the harvest, which guarantees distinctive wines, fleshy and sweet at the same time, often powerful but delicate on the palate, appreciated for their quality. We mainly produce reds and some rosés, whites anecdotally.

Les Vignerons de Buzet

Most of the appellation is produced and distributed by the Cave Coopérative des Vignerons de Buzet, known for its innovative commitments for several years, in favor of the environment: The wines of Vignerons de Buzet are produced without chemical fertilizers, without weedkillers and insecticides. The cellar focuses on wine tourism, organizing visits (more than 100,000 visitors per year!) To discover the production of wine, the cellar and the daily lives of winegrowers in the vineyard.
