10 minutes drive from Agen, the town of Moirax worth the trip! As much for its built heritage as for its natural territory. This village is an ideal destination for nature lovers and it is also a very attractive place for children. So, whether you are alone, with friends, or with your family, you are invited to visit the streets and trails of Moirax ...!

A surprising village

Because of its rural look, Moirax contrasts with Agen (the chief town of Lot-et-Garonne). The visit of the village is quick, at the entrance you will find a car park for visitors. Opposite, stands the gigantic Priory, formerly intended for housing monks and dating from the middle of the eleventh century. Next to it is the Priory Park, which is open to the public from 9 am to 7 pm, you will discover a small path dotted with honey plants and of course many beehives!

You will start by admiring "The Garden of Fairies" made by the children of the leisure center, then you will cross a meadow that will take you to a small orchard, to reach the terrace of the Priory. Do not expect a huge stroll, this trail takes less than 15 minutes, but it is very nice  to do!

Back at the parking, you can reach the courtyard of the Priory which is adjacent to the Notre-Dame church. In the center of the courtyard is the well, which has stood since centuries. It once fed the monastery, next to a beautiful flower meadow, perfect for making great photos! You can then stroll through the narrow streets, enjoy the quiet of a country village and cool off in the shade of a terrace.

The path is bordered by the forest and follows the stream named the "Jorle", so it is well shaded and pleasant even with the heat of the summer months. Picnic tables have been set up at various locations along the route. It's an immersion in nature, between the singing of birds and the gurgling of the stream: you will be soothed and serene!
