Fishing in Lot-et-Garonne: some information to know before casting your line

Did you know that there are a whole set of regulations to follow before you can fish? Before even hanging your hook, you must obtain your fishing license, or only cast one line on the entire national river public domain. Regarding freshwater fishing, as is the case in Lot-et-Garonne, bodies of water and lakes are divided into 2 categories :

  • 1st category mainly populated by trout, char, grayling and other salmonids
  • 2nd category which includes all other waterways, canals and bodies of water

Size and number limits for fish, along with a maximum number of lines cast, are also regulated depending on the fishing area and its category. Don't hesitate to inquire about all the rules to follow !
