    • Founded in 1876, the Agen Fine Arts Museum, located in the historic heart of the city, is housed in four superb private mansions built between the 15th and 18th centuries. It is one of the richest museums in the South-West and presents, in a pleasant route evoking the interior of a wealthy collector, a set of paintings and sculptures, furniture and European earthenware. The museum's collections offer a wide panorama of the history of art, from prehistory to the 21st century, which makes it a must for your visits/stays in Lot-et-Garonne!

A major architectural testimony to the religious and political history of the town, the Jacobins church, the only remnant of the Dominican convent erected in 1249, has also hosted temporary exhibitions from the Museum of Fine Arts in Agen since 1990. Outside exhibition periods, the monument can be visited on request.

Not many visitors and you can appreciate the exhibits at ease. Rich variety of exhibits of different categories. The audio visual guide is well developed and very helpful to non French speaking guest like me.

The dungeaon is awesome. Lots of chills. The museum is a great cultural place to visit in Agen. It has paintings and ancien objests. Not crowded and we had a simple and pleasent visit. There were spots for children where they can touch and explore which was really nice for my kids.
