Founded in 1876, the Agen Fine Arts Museum, located in the historic heart of the city, is housed in four superb private mansions built between the 15th and 18th centuries. A major architectural testimony to the religious and political history of the town, the Jacobins church, the only remnant of the Dominican convent erected in 1249, has also hosted temporary exhibitions from the Museum of Fine Arts in Agen since 1990. Outside exhibition periods, the monument can be visited on request.
