Experience the Prune Farm and Museum in Lafitte-sur-Lot
On the banks of the Lot, between Tonneins and Villeneuve-sur-Lot, the Prune Farm and Museum is much more than a place to visit: it is an experience to be fully lived, in rhythm with the seasons.
Upon arrival, the immersion begins with a stroll through the orchard. In spring, the plum trees are adorned with a dazzling white. In summer, purple plums illuminate the trees. Each season transforms the landscape and sets the stage for your day.
A cultural and interactive experience
The discovery begins in a 300 m² museum space. Equipped with an audio guide (French, English or Dutch), you delve into the history of the prune, from the 12th century to the present day. Here, you don't just visit: you explore.
Children experience their own adventure through an immersive game that transforms them into 19th-century prune producers. Missions, puzzles, and challenges punctuate their journey.
An immersive video then takes you behind the scenes of the current production. Vanessa and Fabrice, passionate producers, share the techniques and secrets that transform fresh plums into soft prunes.
And because an experience also involves the senses, the visit concludes with a generous tasting : natural, chocolate, with alcohol… The prune reveals itself in all its forms, sweet, salty and even cosmetic.
The shop extends the experience with a wide range of prune-based products as well as specialties from neighboring producers.
The Guinguette du Lot experience
In an idyllic setting by the water, the Guinguette du Lot embodies the art of summer living. Sunny terrace, friendly atmosphere, local produce and homemade cuisine : everything invites you to slow down.
On the menu: duck burgers, seasonal salads, quiches, homemade desserts and ice cream. Craft drinks, fresh juices.
Open every day in July-August from 9am, with musical evenings every night (reservations recommended), the guinguette is the ideal place to extend the day.
The Maze Adventure
Every summer, the corn maze opens its doors. Two meters high, riddles to solve, challenges to overcome … and a scripted adventure that takes young and old on a fun-filled journey. On Monday evenings, experience it by torchlight for an even more magical atmosphere.
Allow approximately one hour per activity : museum, maze, open-air café … Here, people come for the whole day. Sun loungers, bike access (Accueil Vélo certified) or boat access via the Lot River : everything is designed to encourage leisurely exploration.
