    • The Pruneau Farm and Museum in Lafitte sur Lot, a must-see place in Lot et Garonne

On the banks of the Lot between Tonneins and Villeneuve-sur-Lot The Pruneau farm and museum. The arrival is made by crossing the plum orchard which changes completely depending on the season. Snow-white in spring, brilliant green afterwards and filled with purple plums in summer.

The visit is done in 3 stages:

      • The first stage takes place in a 300m2 museum. Equipped with an audioguide (in French, English or Dutch) we tell you the story of the prune and its cultivation from the 12th century to today. As for the children, they are equipped to go on an adventure and become a plum grower of the 19th century.

      • Then will follow a video to see today's work on the 4 seasons because at the Musée du Pruneau we don't work for plums. Vanessa and Fabrice, above all producers, will explain all the steps for this pretty juicy and purple plum to become a soft prune.

      • In order to answer questions and especially because you will have been salivating from the beginning, the visit ends with a tasting. Everything is good, whether plain prune or chocolate and of course alcohol. Prunes come in all forms. It's like in the pig, everything is good in the prune, nothing is thrown away.

Prunes can be both savory and sweet. We even make cosmetics with it. The shop is full of prune products that everyone wants, as well as products from neighboring friends. At the end of the visit for the greediest, Vanessa makes desserts and ice cream with prunes or strawberries (because at the prune farm and museum we also produce strawberries). It is possible to sit on their terrace or in the lawn, quietly on the banks of the Lot. In summer, in addition to the museum, there is the corn maze and the pruno quiz. Catering on site in July/August where everything is homemade.

To reach this family farm, it is possible to come by car, by bike (Accueil Vélo) or by boat (via the Lot). For those who want to stay longer, the farm has a motorhome area.

Possibility on site to take the gourmet pass to visit in addition to the Pruneau Museum, the Maison de la Hazelnut and the Foie Gras Museum.
