- The Moncassin Castle is located in the heart of Aquitaine on a highest point in Lot-et-Garonne.
  
  The vineyard covers 11 hectares, it harmoniously surrounds the castle and its park.
  
  Its terroir lends itself perfectly to the cultivation of vines thanks to its ideally oriented slopes and its clay-gravelly soils planted with noble grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot for the reds, Sauvignon and Sémilion for the whites.
  
  Through permanent monitoring, all work is carried out mechanically, ensuring controlled production with a reasoned control program that respects the environment.

Wonderful stay for the night before our LeBoat trip on the Baise River. Our rooms were very elegant. Breakfast was spectacular with our first French breads of our trip. We toured the winery, sampled, and bought. Our hosts provided us with a living room on the third floor for us to spread out our maps for our pre-trip meeting. We are used to paying close to $100 a bottle for this quality of wine, so the local prices were welcome and we bought a case to bring home.

This chateau is about as close to a castle as can be without having a mote around it. It was originally constructed in the 13th century. It is a wonderful BnB and event venue.

I acted as an interpreter for a tour of the chai in English. The staff are passionate and committed to the production of high quality wine. Interesting history of centuries of viticulture, topped by a tasting session. Fabulous!
