A source of inspiration for Claude Monet

Latour-Marliac is also famous for his historical link with the painter Claude Monet. The artist discovered Latour-Marliac's hybrid water lilies at the Universal Exhibition of 1889, where these plants were exhibited in front of the Trocadero in Paris.

Charmed, Monet placed several orders for his famous water garden at Giverny. The colorful water lilies from the nursery directly inspired his famous Water Lilies paintings, exhibited at the Musée de l'Orangerie in Paris.
