Located in Lot-et-Garonne, on the border of Lot and Dordogne, the Château de Bonaguil forms a unique ensemble in Europe, with impressive proportions and in a remarkable state of preservation. Lord Bérenger de Roquefeuil (1448-1530) devoted more than 30 years of his life to building this exemplary castle. A true fortress, it was inhabited until the French Revolution.
The commune of Fumel bought it in 1860 to protect it from possible disappearance. In 1862, the site was classified as a Historic Monument and has since benefited from numerous restoration campaigns. During a guided or independent tour, immerse yourself in the heart of medieval history!ANIMATIONS
Throughout the year, the Château de Bonaguil offers you various cultural activities in an exceptional setting. In July and August (as well as certain school holiday periods), free thematic activities are offered to children on certain days of the week: treasure hunts, archery, creative and educational workshops, medieval troupes... The castle is open every day from March to October.
- March and October: Every day from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.;
- April, May, June: Every day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.;
- September: Every day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.;
- July, August: Every day from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.;
- November - December - January - February: School holidays (all zones) from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. except 12/25 and 01/01.
