How to play Tèrra Aventura

Terra Aventura is a great game track available as a digital route.
To play, it's very simple, you need a Smartphone and an Internet connection.
You download the application for free on your mobile, you create an account to save your progress and then just click to geolocate yourself and see the courses available around you.
If you are going on vacation for a short time or for the day, you can plan your routes by looking at what is near your destinations. This is what hundreds of families do every day, it is a real phenomenon that encourages many people to move and discover our regions!

The Allemans-du-Dropt bridge, Tèrra Aventura is an opportunity to really appreciate the heritage

Tèrra Aventura was created in 2011, it is a good idea of the old Limousin region. Nouvelle-Aquitaine has adopted the concept to extend it to its 12 departments for a total of more than 500 courses (in 2021, new ones are born each year). Tèrra Aventura is also a hunt for Poïz, small virtual characters, to be collected in the form of badges (which will remind some of the fashion of pines!). All the ingredients are there for the mayonnaise to take, children and " geek " (like me!) Are fans of this concept. We are getting closer to Pokémon Go, with less screen time needed to have fun and we learn a lot about the place visited.

The routes are mainly created by local tourism players, such as Tourist Offices. It is an operation to promote their territory which pays off on their side and that is why it is free for the user: smart! The courses are therefore qualitative and you can have confidence in the information distilled, they are not "gibberish"!

Tèrra Aventura in Allemand-du-Dropt: The Pigments of Guyenne

Allemans-du-Dropt is a very pretty village in Lot-et-Garonne, in the Pays de Lauzun. It is easily traversed on foot, it is gathered around its 11th century Romanesque Saint-Eutrope church… The route from Tèrra Aventura to Allemans-du-Dropt is 1.5 km with 5 puzzles to find and solve for approximately 1 hour to 1:30 of quality walk.

You have to park in the center, in the square or near the church, this is where the hunt begins... Download the route upstream because the network is very random in the village. On site, you will find everything you need to eat at the table of a café / brasserie or something to buy food for the picnic (as I did, a delight on the banks of the Dropt...) .

Inside the Saint-Europe church

I'm not going to reveal the riddles to you, nor their position… We're not going to spoil it! I can tell you that the walk begins with the discovery of the church, which is small but really deserves to enter because inside is a sumptuous listed fresco from the 15th century.

For this purpose, bring a small room, to illuminate the paintings of the church and enjoy the show as it should be. You will find in the church or at the Tourist Office, a leaflet to learn more and understand the drawings represented by the frescoes.

We then continue through the pretty wooden hall, then we continue on the alleys of the village which reveal to you along the way, their specificities, old uses and small details... look up at the half-timberings! Near the Dropt, there is a bridge dating from the 12th century, which was used at the time by the millers who worked at the flour mill that you will also see. This was later transformed into a flour mill, to make ice packs. Take a moment to appreciate this magnificent landscape on the banks of the Dropt .

There is a campsite on the banks of the Dropt in Allemans-du-Dropt. It is very pleasant for a stopover for one night or for a few days. In season, you can also go canoeing in the surroundings.

Back in the village, you continue to walk towards an old noble residence, a castle (now private), offered to Bertrand de Goth and his powerful family of Guyenne (old name of this region) by the King of England in the 14th century… All that remains of the original castle is a small element that the Tèrra Aventura hunt will help you identify… Keep your eyes open! We continue our loop to reach the second hall of the village, more recent, then we return to the center.
