Fancy exploring Lot-et-Garonne by bike? This department is committed to sustainable mobility and slow tourism. Cycle paths and greenways have been developed throughout the region. Furthermore, it lies at the crossroads of several cycling routes. Whether you're a road cyclist or a mountain biker, there's something for everyone and every skill level. So, hop on your bike and let's go!

The Lot Valley Cycle Route

The Lot Valley Cycle Route, designated " V86 ", crosses the Lot-et-Garonne department from east to west, from the area around Fumel to Aiguillon. You therefore have over 80 km of beautiful roads at your disposal to discover the Lot Valley by bike. It even continues to Cahors in the Lot department, adding another 80 km. Plans are in place to connect it soon to the Canal des Deux Mers (Canal of the Two Seas) on one side and extend it into the Lozère department on the other. Here are a few points of interest along your route:

The starting point is recommended in Aiguillon. Just nearby, Nicole is the confluence of the Lot and Garonne rivers. We invite you to witness this spectacular sight of the river waters flowing into the Garonne.

The Dropt Valley Cycle Route

The Dropt Valley Cycle Route stretches from Duras to Monsempron-Libos, a distance of nearly 100km. You can extend it by joining the Lot Valley Cycle Route or the Canal des Deux Mers. The route is relatively new, and some sections are still poorly signposted. Overall, this cycle route mainly follows quiet country roads, but caution is advised as it does include some departmental roads, notably a dangerous one near Castillonnès.

The Baïse Cycle Route

The " V82 " is the Baïse Cycle Route. Its starting point is in Lavardac. It winds through the Albret region, following the course of the Baïse River, all the way to Moncrabeau, on the border with the Gers department. Along the way, be sure to stop and visit these interesting places:

At Moncrabeau, the Peyroutet Site.

The Canal des Deux Mers by bike

The Canal des Deux Mers connects the Atlantic Ocean to the Mediterranean Sea and crosses the Lot-et-Garonne department from Marmande to Agen. A greenway cycle path runs alongside it, following a former towpath. Being inaccessible to cars, it's a safe route. It's a popular and therefore quite busy route. As a result, the path is perfectly maintained. It's a fairly flat, easy, and family-friendly route. Moreover, the surroundings are green and the setting is natural. Shaded by large trees and along the water's edge, the ride is particularly pleasant. Along the way, we recommend a detour to the following towns:

The " Scandibérique "

The Scandibérique is a European cycle route, designated "EV3", that follows the Way of St. James (Camino de Santiago) from Norway to Spain. This is why it is nicknamed the " Pilgrims' Route ". You can cycle it from Feugarolles to Saint-Pé-Saint-Simon, on the border of the Lot-et-Garonne department, between the Landes and Gers departments. Along the way, stop at:
